More About My Sports Dreams ...
If you are reading this, chances are you are a coach, athletic administrator or captain of your team. That means you are a busy, driven and high achieving person. So, we're not going to waste your team with fancy pictures, tons of graphics or nonsense about how exciting fundraising is. We're going to give it to you straight.

The truth is that fundraising is no one's idea of fun, BUT for many college and high school teams around the country, it's almost a means of survival. The old fundraising methods - selling food or magazines, working concessions, running a car wash - generate a couple of dollars but they can't begin to make an impact on a team budget that is thousands of dollars short of real needs.

We launched My Sports Dreams in 2004 after ten years in the travel baseball business. It was obvious to us back then that fundraising was changing. What was once thought of as a way to generate a little bit of extra money for shirts or a short trip was quickly turning into a vital element in a team's regular season operating budget. The economic downturn of the last few years has just made the problem worse.

We had three primary goals in starting our company. First, we wanted to come up with a way for teams to routinely raise thousands of dollars. Second, we wanted to eliminate a reliance on selling. Third, we wanted create a process that was truly fast and painless. Coaches and athletes are really busy people and the idea of spending days or weeks on fundraising is just not practical or realistic today.

Our primary form of fundraising - state-of-the-art, highly customized and professionally written sponsorship letters - has helped us achieve all three of our goals. Our teams are in fact raising (and keeping) $5,000 - $15,000 per campaign, on average. They are not selling products. And, they are spending about an hour on the effort from start to finish.

They are also, with our help and guidance, discovering that contributors to their team can be anywhere in the country, NOT just in the town or area they live in. For college athletes especially, the best contributors to a team could be hundreds or even thousands of miles away. And that it's possible to raise a lot of money without soliciting parents or alums.

Sounds good, but has it worked? Well, we are on our way toward reaching the 15,000 team milestone, we have helped teams raise collectively tens of millions of dollars, and this has been achieved right through one of the toughest economic environments since the Great Depression.

Among our thousands of clients are countless college teams that have won national, regional and conference championships, ranked high school squads and elite travel teams. That's why many coaches refer to My Sports Dreams as "The Choice of Champions".

Our staff is made up of highly accomplished athletes and business people who are passionate about helping our clients succeed. We're proud of what we do and we care about your results, not just ours. To us, you're not a customer, you're a partner and a friend.
